II. ASSESS what was taught to determine mastery

A. Administer OAS-aligned summative benchmarks three times per year

    1. Fall Baseline: Evaluate performance data by standard and adjust pacing if major gaps in prior knowledge are noted.
[We recommend “Classroom List” report that groups questions by objective in Alpha Plus Online.]
TIP: As soon as possible, start class Summative Test Log in order to compare last state test scores with baseline, midyear and spring benchmarks for coordinating remediation throughout the year. PDF Template Example Excel Template Example.
    2. Winter / Midyear: Evaluate and adjust pacing for second semester; reteach any objectives for which fewer than 70% of students were proficient. [We recommend Standards at Risk Report w/small-group remediation list Alpha Plus Online.]
    3. Spring / End-of-Instruction: Evaluate data and plan final intervention for each student on weak or “bubble” objectives before state testing in April.

B. Administer common formative quizzes as objectives are taught during first three nine weeks [If your school is a new Alpha Plus member, download a copy of Alpha Plus Online      Quick Start Guide here]

    1. Select appropriate dates and mark formative tests on your Pacing Calendar
    2. Take steps to ensure students take formative quizzes seriously and that they evaluate each distractor for the best / most-plausible answer. Teaching How to Be a Good Test Taker 2020 PDF

    1. Use Remediation Report Form to coordinate intervention for each student  Download FREE Remediation Report Form PDF.
    2. What does my Objective Accountability Graph say? Example jpg.
    3. Hold weekly Data Team Meetings and/or complete DTM worksheets to monitor progress

We Use Data to Help Schools on the Way to an A!

Teachers and administrators can quickly and easily identify students who need more help learning the Oklahoma Academic Standards.

Alpha Plus pinpoints the SPECIFIC OAS objectives or "gaps" students have from previous years, then helps school teams address each objective throughout the year.

That is why Alpha Plus schools have OUTPERFORMED the state average every year of the A-F Report Cards.
